All bids received are automatically put in priority order, in accordance with the banding scheme and taking into consideration any eligibility criteria stated in the property advert, to produce a list of eligible applicants for each property advertised. For information on the banding scheme, see Prioritising applications.
Once the bidding cycle has closed, the relevant landlord will look at the shortlist of applicants interested in the property. In most instances the property will be offered to the person at the top of the list. If the landlord is unable to offer the property to the applicant at the top of the list the next applicant on the list will be considered, and so on. The successful applicant will have an opportunity to view the property before accepting it.
If you refuse a property you are offered you will normally be put down a band for a period of 6 months. If you feel this offer was not a reasonable offer and was not suitable for you, you have the right to request a review of this decision. The request for review and your reasons for refusing the offer need to be put in writing to the HomeChoice Bristol team. If you require help with this you need to contact one of the Customer Service Points.
If you are offered a property you will not be short listed for other properties until you have decided to either accept or refuse the offer.
If you accept the property the relevant landlord will make an appointment for you to sign the tenancy agreement and collect the keys.
