The supply of social housing in Bristol is limited. Around 2300 properties become available each year and over 13,000 people are registered on the Housing Register.
With so many more applicants than vacancies, those on lower bands are unlikely to get an offer of accommodation.

From the 5th May 2015 we are changing the HomeChoice Bristol Housing Allocation Scheme. The new policy makes some changes to how applications are prioritised and introduces a qualification critieria which applicants must meet to be allowed onto HomeChoice Bristol. The new policy removes relegation and replaces it with being suspended from bidding. Some people may be suspended from bidding for the following reasons:
